Vocation to religious life means the invitation of Jesus, “Come and see!” (John 1:39).
Hence fostering vocations aims at presenting the attraction of the person of the Lord Jesus Christ and the beauty of the total gift of self for the sake of the Gospel.
Jesus called his apostles individually to be with him, to experience him. Patiently and lovingly he prepared them, and stamped on them his image. He gave them the Holy Spirit and sent them out to preach the Gospel. Similarly, he calls us to live out in the Church our Founder’s vision of evangelizing and catechizing. We respond to this call by committing ourselves totally through an adequate and continuous formation, for which God gives us his grace daily.
Our Beloved Founder has taught us that the best way to promote vocations is to have true sisterly love among ourselves, appreciating and loving each other, and having a cheerful disposition so that those who come to us may see and love Jesus through Our Way of Life.
PRAYER FOR VOCATON
God our Father, we offer you our love, praise and thanks for the marvels of your Grace. We thank you, above all, for having called us to follow closely Jesus your son, in the congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of St.Thomas. He taught us to pray to you with trust in all our needs. Look on us today, earnestly praying to you, to bless our FST family with many Vocations, with good and zealous young girls, ready to offer themselves totally and selflessly in your service.
May they be fired with the desire to follow the FST Charism and Motto, to build up and empower the poor of today, especially in rural and backward settings, to become living cells of church and society! May they thus become committed agents who make the dream of our Founder come true!, who intercedes for the growth of our Religious Family! May he always be our Model, helping each of us, his children, to live the FST vocation in joyful fidelity every day! O Lord, may our own life thus become the best vocational inspiration for many young girls to generously enter into your service in our congregation! We make this prayer to you, through Christ our Lord. – AMEN
